Over and above shop floor level training pitched at NQF 2- 4, supervisory, management and specialised training are also of the utmost importance. The advanced technology courses cater for this need.
Achieved to date
Due to the fact that not many accredited training providers are available it was decided to utilise some of this funding for a one week training course offered by Prof Polzin, Wolf and Domaschk from Freiberg University. This training course was offered back to back with the UJ MCTS Colloquium (121 delegates attended the training week on different days).
Planned activities for 2011/12
It is hoped that discussions with UJ lecturers will change the lack of training providers on this level. At least forty five (45) supervisory, management or specialised training to be offered in this financial year.
Possible risk identified
In the event that SAIF is not able to identify and contract UJ lecturers an alternative will have to be looked at, this could delay the training offered on NQF level 5 and up.
