This guide was developed in response to a perceived need in the industry to have access to a concise guide to the numerous incentive and funding schemes that are offered in South Africa by various national and provincial local government agencies.
The guide is presented in electronic format for ease of use and to enable regular updating as required. It is envisaged that such updated guides will be issued to foundries electronically as and when required.
The contents of the guide are based on a comprehensive survey of public sector incentives and funding schemes conducted during July and August 2010. Only those schemes that are relevant to foundries have been included (i.e. support schemes for tourism, the textile industry, and for major infrastructure capital projects have been purposely excluded).
